April starts off with the Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show on Wednesday, April 1 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria. The event is hosted by the PUHS Senior Class and is a fundraiser for their class trip. The cost is $5 for students and $7 for parents and prizes will be offered to the top three winners in each category. This is a guaranteed fun evening and I hope you all consider attending and supporting these talented students.
We have a series of field trips on applied science scheduled in April for PUHS Biology and Chemistry students. On April 1, all Biology students will be going to the Native Seeds Search Farm and conduct research on plant propagation. The following week on Tuesday, April 7th, the Chemistry students will be going to the Susan Englebry Compost Center in the morning to learn about the chemical components of decomposition and on Thursday, April 9th, these same students will be going to Lake Patagonia State Park to conduct water quality testing. On Monday, April 13th the Biology 1 & 2 students will go to the Patagonia Nature Conservancy in the morning to learn about Dendrochronology (the study of the annual growth rings in timber and tree trunks.) Please remember to sign your son or daughter’s permission slip! All students MUST have a signed permission slip to go on these field trips.
